Gusting winds are fanning the Tremont Creek wildfire this evening, and properties have now been ordered to evacuate just south of Savona.
The order covers the north end of Tunkwa Lake Road to areas just outside of Savona.
Further, the TNRD has put more than 350 other properties on evacuation alert including Tobiano because of the same wildfire. Full details with addresses on that alert can be found here.
These add to 41 evacuation orders that remain in place closer to Tunkwa Lake itself. The TNRD has 13 other evacuation alerts, while the District of Logan Lake is on evacuation alert as well.
At last measure, the Tremont Creek fire was mapped at 30,000 hectares. There have been extremely strong wind gusts in the Kamloops area this evening, with winds largely coming from the soutwest.
Heavy winds have also led to dramatic growth at the White Rock Lake fire this evening, which has levelled structures in Monte Lake and Paxton Valley.
